Misha Japanwala, a Pakistani designer and visual artist, has made her formal debut as a New York-based designer with the presentation of an inspiring collection called azaadi, an Urdu term that means freedom. Following the news she frequently read as a child about murders and heinous acts of abuse against women, the Parsons School of Design graduate went back to or visited her hometown in search of inspiration.
